Who are swingers?
I had dived straight in at the deep end and swum by the light of
my nature. Many swingers never attend parties but meet others only at one another’s
homes. Others prefer to meet at ‘munches’, or swingers’ socials
in public venues such as pubs where no playing is permitted, and
where they identify one another by means of fishnet stockings or
some other code signal and, if they like one another, arrange to
meet elsewhere at a later date. Chameleon’s, like most British
swingers’ clubs, is relatively hardcore. This is not to say
that there were not many people there who kept their towels on all
night and merely enjoyed the view and the company, just that those
who do decide to play, as we had, abandon all inhibitions without
fear.
It was very notable, however, that even in such an environment,
it was with people whom we had met, conversed with and fancied that
we ended up playing.

Occasionally we involved others playing
nearby, but this was briefly and by agreement with our new friends – sharing
pleasure with fellows and using them for pleasure as components of
our chosen game.
Since then, I have been to many parties at which I have not felt
impelled to play or, when I have played, at which I have not had
penetrative sex. I have enjoyed them for all that. Even as I walk in and greet acquaintances or simply scan the little
frocks, the underwear, the insane stilettos and strap-up boots, the
flickering glances of the men and women as they appraise me in turn,
I feel a great weight dropping from me.
